Advances in Airborne Radar Simulation

چکیده
Airborne Radar Simulation, in the present context, is the real-time generation of radar displays and other radar outputs, such as data exchanges with the flight computer or other avionics subsystems, consistent with the actual radar and in response to the interaction with the operator, ownship, targets, and the environment. The primary application is flight simulators for man-in-the-loop training of pilots and radar operators. The focus of this paper is Air-To-Ground radar modes and thus the Digital Radar Landmass Simulator (DRLMS). It provides a brief overview of the evolution of radar simulators from the acoustic systems of the early 1950’s to those based upon the general-purpose workstations of the 1990’s. This is followed by a discussion of state-of-the-art radar simulator hardware and software architectures. The paper concludes with a discussion of some recent radar advances that challenge the radar simulator designer, including Doppler Beam Sharpening (DBS), Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), and Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) modes, and the Electronically Steerable Array (ESA). These challenges are being met with innovative databases and signal processing algorithms that are described in the paper.

Effect of Curved Path Monopulse Radar Platform’s Grazing Angle on Height of Floated Targets Detection
Monopulse radarsare one of the most accurate tracking radars used to guide various platforms. Detection and tracking of surface targets with these radars are performed in order to point strike targets. Sea clutter presents challenges for detecting floated targets and in addition to affecting detection height, it can cause errors in monopulse angle finding. In this paper, the airborne monopulse ...

In order to make full use of measurement information provided by sensors on the aerial carriers and efficiently make maneuvering target tracking under complicated conditions, this paper studies tracking methods of joint maneuvering target by airborne radar and Electronic Support Measure (ESM). Based on Interacted Multiple Model-Blue Linear Unbiased Estimation (IMM-BLUE) algorithm, this paper we...
متن کاملRange ambiguity clutter suppression for bistatic STAP radar
Bistatic pulse-Doppler airborne radar has desirable properties such as the low probability of detection by other radars relative to its monostatic counterpart. However, the clutter characteristics of bistatic airborne radar are more complex than those of monostatic airborne radar. The clutter spectra not only vary severely with range, but also vary with bistatic configuration. In this article, ...
